Oil in Ethiopia- Six locations in Ethiopia with oil Capacity are known
The Ministry of Mining and Energy said it has identified six locations with oil in Ethiopia. Public Relations and Communication Director with the Ministry, Michael Laila, told ENA that the effort is underway to develop areas that are believed to have been used in the country.
The Ministry said it was not clear how much oil it would have in the area, but it said it had been told that it had been drilled in the southern Wollo area. However, it is believed that the potential oil potential is in the Ogaden area of the Somali Region, according to Michael.
Oil in Ethiopia
It is said that five companies, including the Chinese company CPC, are looking for oil and gas exploration in those regions. The locations where oil is found are Rift valley, southern Ethiopia including Abay Basin, Gambella, Afar, Mekele and Somali.
