PM Abiy Lauds UNDP for Technical, Financial Support
Prime Minister Dr. abiy Ahmed received a letter from the European Union Humanitarian Charter and Crisis Management Commissioner Christoph Stewensten at his office.
Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed said that the EU is a vital partner in development, peace and stability and development of democracy in Ethiopia.
Commissioner Stylandes emphasized the change in Ethiopia over the past eight months, stati ng that both sides have made a commitment to work on a permanent and strong partnership based on a long-term commitment from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has praised the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for its longstanding technical and financial support to Ethiopia.
PM Abiy met with UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner today.
During the occasion, the premier appreciated UNDP’s longstanding technical and financial support to Ethiopia in strengthening democratic governance and capacity development as well as accelerating economic growth and poverty reduction, among others.
According to Office of the Prime Minister, he also expressed the government’s commitment to further strengthen this partnership.
Steiner on his part commended the significant steps the Government of Ethiopia has taken in undertaking democratic reforms and expressed UNDP’s commitment to the continued cooperation.
UNDP Administrator Steiner is in Addis Ababa on a two-day working visit to Ethiopia beginning Monday.
